Picture of Marta Serraggiotto nowadays and when she was a kid

I’m Marta Serraggiotto, a children’s book author-illustrator from Padova, Italy, with a big love for magical creatures and clumsy monsters.

I am collaborating with Likes Publishing on a series of picture books and I’ve collaborated with Gallop Books (on some very cool back matter pages).

I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science and I’m currently studying Developmental and Educational Psychology at the University of Padova. I’ve worked with kids and adolescents with intellectual disabilities and learning disorders and I’ve been a volunteer at a group home. These experiences have allowed me to understand the importance of empathy and inclusion. For this reason with my whimsical stories I incorporate SEL elements with a sparkle of magic.

I’ve studied Digital Illustration at the International School of Comics, I’m a member of SCBWI, a #PBParty 2026 finalist, and a #PBParty 2025 honorable mention.

I have illustrated Super Fearo The Ant Superhero (available in English and Italian) and I’m currently illustrating Coop Design by Merriweather (pre-order you copy here!). I’m also working on several picture book dummies (did you know you could find some of them in my Visual Development page?).

My whimsical illustrations and stories are deeply influenced by the memories of my childhood between cherry and apricot trees, the adventures with my friends and the little things around us that spark my imagination.

With my art I want to highlight the magic of childhood and the world that surrounds us.

When I’m not working on books you can find me swing dancing or playing Dungeons & Dragons (or both at the same time).

Ho illustrato Super Fearo La Formica Supereroe (disponibile in italiano e in inglese) e sto lavorando a Coop Design by Merriweather (prenota la tua copia qui!).
